Ever see that movie “Night At The Museum”? Remember the cavemen running around and a statue of Teddy Roosevelt riding a horse around the entire place? Well that doesn’t really happen after the museum closes. No.   :(

What I learned is that what really happens is 2 people say “I do”, they have a wonderful dinner and a fantastic party after!

The night was full of dancing. Dancing during dinner, a personal choreographed dance (brought to the newlyweds by members of a Dallas ballet studio) and a full dance floor complete with Egyptian music mixed seamlessly in with songs like “Sexy and I Know it”…which, by the way, sounds awesome on top of an Egyptian back beat. This was a fun wedding!  With Jaime at Bella Flora, Jonathan Ivy doing photos, Absolute Lighting handling the colors, Quest Drape wrapping the room beautifully and Joe Simon catching the whole thing on film, this was one of the biggest weddings I’ve had in awhile! I loved working with all of these vendors and definitely enjoyed this couple as well as their friends and family.

Take it easy baby, make it last all night.

Travis and Melissa were an awesome couple and I felt lucky to be in the room playing for these guys. They’re one of those couples DJs are VERY lucky to have and love every minute working for them…”working”. Their family and friends were just as cool and laid back as they were and they had a good time! Hell, I even had the chance to throw in a little Tom Petty and David Bowie in a dance set!  I was happy…

Kim Hawkins did a beautiful job of capturing the night and at the Hickory Street Annex, there really isn’t a bad angle! Enjoy these pics.

Tootsies. Or this title could be…I need new clothes.

Tootsies was the host for the Stiletto Stampede kickoff party a few weeks ago and these ladies were ready! They were there to preview the shoes…or heels (sorry ladies) that were going to be worn during the Stampede. The Stiletto Stampede benefits Susan G Komen Dallas and hosts this little, well, huge race every year to raise breast cancer awareness.  A special thanks to Courtney with WhereWearInTheCity.com for having me back out at Tootsies!  If you haven’t been to Tootsies, don’t feel bad – you’re used to shopping at Target and Dillards like the rest of us. However, if you get that urge to splurge on a swanky little outfit for that special occasion…Tootsies is your place.

Teach me how to Snuggie

The Snuggies were out last Saturday night Uptown for the annual Snuggie Pub Crawl. I had a nice little crowd stop by the MAT and not sure if these Snuggaholics were drunk or just really into the Snug-ton of great music I was spinning, but they were hyped,  hoppin’ and Snug-poppin’… Not sure how that last one looks but you’ve got an imagination, use it.

You can see more Snuggles here.

City Club is the place to be.

Last night I was downtown Ft Worth at the beautiful City Club doing a wedding for a great couple. I’ll post pics from that as soon as I can but it reminded me of a wedding I DJed last year with pretty much the same group…well Lauren and Will Aves from Aves Photographic Design. I also got to play with a band! Usually, DJs and bands are mortal enemies, but this was one of the best receptions I’ve had the pleasure to work. Drive is one of the best bands in the area and I can’t wait to work with them again. Please enjoy this video from the great people from Turquoise Video Productions and if you’re thinking about having your reception at City Club Ft Worth…do it!

Piazza!

I met Brittany 3 years ago at a weekly show I do in Rockwall.  Little did I know the girl who wailed at Reba, Patsy and the Judds would ask me to do her wedding years later!  It was such a pleasure working for her and John…in fact it’s been about 3 months, time for an anniversary party!  The wonderful to work with, Ashley Langford took some amazing shots of the packed dance floor and Daniel Troupe of Lynn Films shot a great documentary of their entire day!  Love these guys, loved the place.  I’m so lucky!

Beautifully Different.

The theme was Beautifully Different and this wedding really was. It was! Great couple, great vendors like Paige Chenault, When it Clicks Wedding Films and of course Damany and myself from iEntertainment.  It was one of those weddings that just stood out in every way! You couldn’t help but look around at the other people you’re working with and go, “is this for real?”  But it was.  It was held together beautifully by the planner, Paige and emcee, Damany while I backed him up on the decks.  I think if the Pegasus Ballroom had allowed, we would’ve stayed as long as we could free of charge!  The party was just that fun.
